Appearance:
Against the almost dull blue-green of her skin-tone, the most notable feature of Shrina’s appearance is the rich blue, permanent dying that stains her hands, feet and lekku; the shock of color gradients out over her forearms, shins and upper head tails to such a professional degree of craft that it almost appears natural. Next to this tattooing, everything else about Shrina appears rather common. She stands on the taller side of medium for her species, as well on the heavier side of medium due to her hard earned muscles. The irises of her large almond eyes match the shade of her tattooing, a strong vibrant blue. A long, thin nose leads to full lips, which are frequently left in their natural shade of dark blue-green.
Shrina outfits herself somewhere between a warrior’s practicality and a Twi’lek’s habit of sparse clothing. Her lekku are safely armored in a finely linked durasteel head-wrap, each plate of the wrap is no larger than a thumbnail, allowing for enormous flexibility of movement. Two simple lengths of leather run down her chest and tuck into a bodice-like armor piece, again made of the linked durasteel. A translucent top lays underneath the leather straps, down strong arm and tucks into durasteel forearm guards. Her exposed mid-drift reveals a toned abdomen, and the low-slung belt and pants reveal shapely hips. Between her belt that holds her energy charges, and her dark pants that button the length of each leg for a tight fit, a length of leather hangs most of the way around her hips, subtly hiding the holsters on her upper thighs. Just below her knees, Shrina’s pants are layered beneath more dursteel armor that wraps tightly around her shin and calves. Unless heavy melee combat is expected, Shrina wears durasteel plated sandals, preferring the extra balance freeing her toes allows.

Personality:
As equally introverted as Kin, her clan-sister, is extroverted, Shrina’s careful mistrust and disinterest in others has been interpreted as shyness for almost the entirety of her life. What Shrina rarely allows in eye-contact she more than makes up for in clipped conversations and a defensive body-language. While this veneer of no confidence convinces many for first impressions, it doesn’t take much interaction to reach the dry humor and slightly bitter outlook on life that more predominately holds Shrina’s self-assured personality.

Ever since she was a child Shrina had issues staying connected to reality, relying from an early age on Kin to deal with details. It would be comical if it were not as disastrous to her career as a fighter. Simple things like how many energy charges left in her belt or her target’s daily schedule, anything is subject to Shrina’s inattentive memory and notice. However, what her mind lacks in awareness of crucial details, it more than makes up for on non-crucial information; something that has been known to save her in more than one sticky situation. Also a side effect of her wandering interest in reality, Shrina frequently rejoins discussions to realize she’s missed the first half; this leads to a rather blunt aspect of her personality. Lacking Kin’s part silver, part crude tongue, Shrina practices a sort of painful belief in truth. With neither conversational context nor social grace to support her, Shrina speaks the exact truth or doesn’t speak at all. This frequently leaves her silent, which adds further to her shy image.

This dependent aspect of Shrina’s personality seems to dissipate with her interaction with her clan-sister, Kin. Giving tooth for tooth in the face of Kin’s roughness, but with an air of infinite patience, like a caretaker, Shrina tries and acts hard to be convince herself she is Kin’s equal. And while her clan-sister never truly treats her as anything less, there is an ingrained sense of gratitude Shrina holds for the Creeda clan that speaks to something deeper than friendship, yet with a tinge of duty. Kin’s simultaneous acceptance and resistance to Shrina’s sense of duty adds an occasional sharpness to Shrina’s tone, Kin’s reticence always a reminder to her how much it hurt when Kin left without her, and how much Anooba Rush has become her anchor in a world she otherwise would’ve been lost in.

History:
Yar and Il’asa, Shrina’s parents, were both relative nobodies to the Mok clan at the time of Shrina’s birth and at the time of their own deaths. Several generations ago their families had individually seen the top of the social ladder: had been, in fact, members of the head-clan. However, both families had been unable to climb their way back up once the inevitable dismissal forced from the disbandment of the head-clan had occurred. Therefore when the Shath attacked, they were so far from the circle of power and lacked the information, wealth or luck to survive the takeover. The Shath were neither a peaceful nor war-hungry clan, but the decades of heat storms and Lylek attacks due to their proximity of their city to the Bright Lands drove them to search for better land. The Mok, while financially prosperous, were easy targets in geographic nearness and lack of military might. The Siege of Mok lasted less than a day, and the many that did not escape where slaughtered. All who chose to remain within the city’s walls perished. The refugees of Mok traveled for days and nights, weaving into both the Bright Lands and the Darkside in an effort to lose their pursuers. Time and time again the survivors, consisting mostly of woman, orphans and a few men too old or young to fight, were turned away from Head-clans who lacked the sympathy or resources to host them. By the time they reached the city of the Creeda clan they had lost half their original number and were nearing the end of their desire to survive.

Debate stirred amongst the head clan, but the pitiful image of the women, orphans and war broken men posed no real threat to the Creeda clan stability, and before any more of the refugees died they were fully situated. The orphans were either taken by the surviving Mok women, who were in turn hosted, or fully adopted into a Creeda household. The young men were giving the option of being adopted into a family or to live with the elderly Mok men, in a commune type establishment. Once the immediate threat of death faded, another debate sparked: this time about the adoption of names. Some of the head-clan argued that not forcing the Mok to adopt the Creeda name gave invitation for the survivors to think of themselves as a people that could reclaim themselves one day, possibly from the Creeda clan’s wealth itself. Eventually it was decided by the head-clan that to offer a permanent home was to offer a name, but respect would be given for those that wished to retain a memory of their past. Shrina was adopted into the family of a head-clan member as a symbol not only of the Creeda generosity to the Mok, but also as a symbol of the Creeda respect for the Mok’s history. Though too young to understand the importance of her new position as a symbol, Shrina kept her name, Mok, and was fully welcomed into her new life.

Shrina holds only blurry memories of her time before the Creeda clan. Her recollections of parental figures were gently over-ridden by her new father and mother, Va’al and Sool, but Shrina remembers a time where two, young, male figures were part of her daily life, as well a way of living that was much harder than the one she grew to know once a honorary daughter of the Creeda clan. Like most of the Mok orphans, she suffered no real emotional damage due to the extreme care the Creeda clan showed to their new family members. And gradually she began to accept that instead of two older brothers she would have one older sister, Kin.

Shrina easily considers Kin Creeda the sole reason why she could handle the complete devastation and rebirth of her life. In everything that she was unsure and awkward, Kin was a step ahead of her, bravely leading the way for her new sister. In the nights Shrina would wake screaming from a nightmare, Kin would be the first at her bedside, calming the terror with an easy smile and a funny story. During the highly important political ceremonies, in which Shrina was paraded as a symbol of something much larger than herself, Kin was right beside her, the other half of that symbol. The names for the Twi’lek lekku, “tchun” for the left head-tail and “tchin” for the right were appropriately given to the two inseparable girls. When chaos hit for the second time in Shrina’s life, she was equally unready, but this time, doubly capable of handling the despair.

The slow dissolve of Ryloth after the Death Star’s destruction happened in waves of stagnant and fast-forward time. The rush of Imperial forces, the frozen moment when a member of the head-clan was found dead on the streets, the whirlwind of action when Va’al decided to take the family off planet, the bated breath and creeping conversation negotiating the family’s passage and then employment on Cularin Grey, a civilian transport ship that commonly ran between Tatooine to Bothawui, it meant everything and nothing to Shrina as long as her family was alive. For the first time in Shrina’s life, she truly realized how weak she was. The survival of her entire life had been at the mercy and skill of other people: first the fellow refugees who had hauled her through danger, then the Creeda clan, Va’al and Sool’s courage to adopt her, and always Kin protecting her from strong words and bad intentions. So, Shrina did the only thing she could do, she snapped into reality with ferocity none had thought she was capable of. She watched everything. She absorbed the life abroad Cularin Grey like a sponge. While Kin established a world of contacts, Shrina established a rough knowledge of human behavior; and so, when Kin decided to leave, it was expected and yet, still it broke Shrina’s heart. While she wanted nothing more than to go with Kin and protect her, she knew she had no place to demand such a right, knowing of her own weakness.

Shrina continued to work on Cularin Grey until she heard a rumor that a ship of Echani had been seen in the Seswenna Sector. Despite only having heard childhood stories of the Echani’s fighting prowess, Shrina hastily said goodbye to Va’al and Sool and departed abroad a private ship named The Bottom Feeder, who’s captain was hoping to make a marketing deal with the Echani. Many months uncomfortable months Shrina spent abroad The Bottom Feeder and just when she suspected the captain was actually in the slave trade and was planning to sell Shrina as a backup financial move, they stumbled upon the Brentaal Eve. Orbiting Riflor, the Echani were quick to indicate their disinterest in both Shrina and the The Bottom Feeder’s captain. Fearing for her freedom if she were to remain in her present company, Shrina managed to smuggle herself abroad the Brentaal Eve. With a tear-stained face and determined eyes, she secured her passage on the Echani ship partly by offering her services as a humble student and partly by sheer force of will. Thus enters an epoch in Shrina’s life that she refuses to share with anyone, even Kin.

The Echani were drifters, politically independent and disgusted at the idea of being trapped into service. The ship consisted of over fifteen of the silver haired, silver eyed race, all of them masters of their art. The population was in constant flux, as the students departed and arrived, stopping and starting their training based on their emotional readiness. Two other humans resided on the ship as students, so she was not alone in non-species pursuit of training. Quickly, she proved herself as more than just interested in servitude, frequently caught watching hand-to-hand combat practice and reading through detailed logs of Echani battle philosophy. By sheer persistence she was finally allowed to train. Her life was brutal: devoid of the Echani’s natural physical aptitude for battle, she was consistently the worst of the students. Her only redeeming quality was the speed at which she assumed new knowledge, both physical and intellectual.

Four years of training raced by, and Shrina departed from the Brentaal Eve. She wanted neither to leave nor stop her training but the Echani were determined that their students experience the real world of fighting. For a year she drifted, going where she could through odd-jobs on ships and planets. She amassed a small fortune due to the assassination and mercenary jobs she was willing to take. The credits she earned however she frequently got swindled out of. Living modestly and excessively in turn, she reached a natural plateau in her fighting ability and decided to return to the Brentaal Eve where she trained for another two years. Upon her second trip away from the Echani, she resumed her odd-job lifestyle, feeling slightly lost and disgusted; having heard the stories her fellow students had shared of fighting for causes they believed in. A day and a half spent in Rishi, and Shrina was reunited with Kin. Refusing to burden Kin with her frustration for her half-sister’s departure, Shrina silently joined the crew of the Anooba Rush. Shrina is just now starting to realize that what she lacked in a “cause” she gained in Anooba Rush.
